California & Senate Bill 1383

CALIFORNIA

Where some see waste in California, Anaergia sees renewable resources that can solve the local and global waste crisis. Home to North America’s largest organic waste-to-energy plant, Anaergia facilities across the state are already converting waste into useful resources such as renewable natural gas, organic fertilizers, and clean water.

Working with leaders in the municipal solid waste, wastewater, and renewable energy industries, Anergia’s focus on diverting organic waste and biosolids from California’s landfills will help protect the environment and sustain life for generations to come.

ANAERGIA IN CALIFORNIA

California’s new organic waste mandate – Senate Bill 1383 – set a goal of diverting 75% of organic waste, equivalent to 20 million tons per year, from statewide landfills by 2025. To help achieve this ambitious target, Anaergia is leveraging existing infrastructure at wastewater treatment plants and transfer stations using developed leading technologies and facilities that are active across California today.
