Anaergia provides alternatives to the traditional waste to energy solutions. Anaergia is able to convert the biogenic portion of waste into renewable natural gas for distribution in the local grid or for fleet vehicle fuel.
Anaergia can use the biogenic portion of waste to generate a renewable natural gas called biomethane that is over 98% methane. The high purity gas can be sold into the local gas distribution grid. The solution is ideal for locations with relatively low power prices, limitations in the electrical grid or where electricity generation is undesirable to the local community. The process does not have combustion products or large exhaust stacks.
Anaergia is able to further upgrade the biomethane into a high pressure gas called Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). An onsite fueling station can use the renewable CNG to fuel the waste hauling fleet. This provides substantial long term costs savings and greenhouse gas reductions over diesel and natural gas fuels.
