Dr. Andrew Benedek is the Chairman and CEO for Anaergia Inc. Dr. Andrew Benedek has over 30 years of experience in wastewater treatment and breakthrough technology development. Dr. Andrew Benedek was formerly a professor of Chemical and Civil Engineering at McMaster University prior to founding Zenon Environmental Inc. in 1980. Under Dr. Benedek's leadership, many of the key membrane technologies used for water and wastewater treatment were developed, and ZENON became the global leader in this field. In 2006 the company was sold to General Electric, becoming a subsidiary of GE Water & Process Technologies. Dr. Benedek is the recipient of many industrial and personal awards.
